Trinity Bible College Women's Volleyball Head Coach Steps Down After 7 Seasons
After an impactful seven seasons, the head women's volleyball coach at Trinity Bible College, SaraLi Twigg, has announced her decision to step down at the end of this season. Coach Twigg will be leaving behind a legacy that extends far beyond the volleyball court.
Reflecting on Time as Head Coach
when asked what she will remeber most about her tenture, Coach Twigg highlighted the balance between athletic development and life lessons. "As a volleyball coach, it was my job to give thede high-level athletes the tools neccesary to reach their full potential. "she explained. "But more importantly, I felt it was my responsiblity to sprinkle in life lessons throughout their experience as college athletes."
For her, volleyball has always been more than just a sport—it's a tool for teaching valuable life lessons. "The reason I love volleyball so much is because it can teach you so much about life," she added. "The most fulfilling part about coaching at this wonderful institution was not just watching these athletes succeed on the court, but watching them use the life lessons they learned through the sport as they moved on to serve Christ in other areas of their lives."
Impact of the Players
Reflecting on the athletes she's worked with, the coach expressed deep gratitude for the way they've influenced her. "I have had the privilege of coaching many different ladies throughout my time as the volleyball coach at TBC. Each one brought so many unique and wonderful qualities to the program," she shared.
She described learning three key things from her players: perseverance, gratitude, and Godly perspective. "I have watched these ladies persevere through times of trial, and it has reminded me to implement that in my own life," she said. "I have experienced first-hand the gratitude these athletes have shown to one another and to their leaders, and it has encouraged me to express my gratitude more often."
Ultimately, she has been inspired by their ability to maintain a Godly perspective in challenging situations. "I have been challenged through the example of these ladies to always maintain Godly perspective no matter what situation you are facing," she concluded.
A Message for the Future
As she steps into the next chapter of her journey, Coach Twigg leaves her athletes with words of wisdom. "It has been an honor and a privilege to lead this program for the last seven years," she said. "I have given my best efforts to steward this season of coaching well, and now it is time for me to steward the next season God has for me."
Her final piece of advice to her players centers around the importance of being fully present and giving their best effort in whatever season of life they are in. "If I could encourage the volleyball ladies with one thing, it would be to steward each season well," she said. "Currently, you are in the season of being a college student-athlete. Continue to be fully present and honor God by giving your best in this season. And when it comes time for whatever God has next for you, you will be prepared to steward that next season with the same level of excellence that you gave to the season of being a college-athlete."
Her departure marks the end of an era, but her influence will undoubtedly resonate with her players for years to come.
Lions Athletics would like to give Sarali a special thank you for the last 7 years of being the women's volleyball head coach! We are praying for you and your family! Coach Twigg plans on continuing with her job as Finance and Administration Assistant at the college.
