Mikalya Ledgerwood commits to Women’s Basketball & Volleyball!
Trinity Bible College welcomes dual sport athlete Mikayla Ledgerwood! Ledgerwood will compete in both volleyball and basketball next year. For volleyball Mikayla plays outside hitter, and for basketball she plays the forward position. Standing at 5'6 Mikaya brings versatility to both respective sports. Mikayla attended Ennis High School, In Ennis, Montana. She earned 2nd Team All Conference, and Academic All State for both basketball and volleyball. Ledgerwood is primed to make a meaningful impact in both volleyball and basketball this fall!
When asked why she chose to attend Trinity she stated: "I love the atmosphere there and I get the opportunity to play sports with my sisters, while pursuing what God has for me! Mikayla is the twin sister of incoming freshman Mikendra Ledgerwood, and her older sister Marlyssa Ledgerwood will be a Junior this upcoming year at Trinity. We are very excited to have three Lederwoods on campus this fall!
In the words of Head Volley Ball Coach Quincy Wilson: "Mikayla is an exceptionally talented player. She excels on the offensive side by effectively exploiting openings in the opposing team's defense. Additionally, she has a keen ability to anticipate plays and make impactful contributions on defense. Her competitiveness and mental toughness will elevate the level of play in both games and practices. A versatile athlete, Mikayla will be a valuable addition to the team this upcoming season.
We also asked Women's basketball Head Coach Rachael Nowell her thoughts on adding Mikayla. Coach Nowell Stated: "I am super excited to welcome Mikayla Ledgerwood to our basketball team this fall! Mikayla is versatile in her skill set on the court. She works extremely hard, is scrappy around the hoop and aggressive on defense! Her anticipation on defense and ability to see passing lanes on offense will make her not only a fun player to watch, but a key addition to our team. Mikayla's commitment to the Lions is also exciting because after 17 years of coaching, I finally get to coach my first set of twin sisters! We look forward to bringing the sister connection on the court from Ennis, Montana to Ellendale, North Dakota!
We are excited to see Mikayla on the court and on campus this fall!
