Lions Add Dual Sport All Region Athlete Preston Lyons
Lions get a talented dual sport athlete from Texas
The Lions Basketball and Football team got a two for one in a highly talented prospect out of Saint Jo, Texas. Preston Lyons will be making an impact for both sport this upcoming fall and winter as he decided to join the TBC family over his recent visit to campus. Preston was also a dual sport stand out athlete for Saint Jo ISD, down in Texas. Preston becomes the 2nd signee for Coach Nowell's basketball team and the 16th for Coach Twigg and the football team.
In high school Preston played Quarterback, but will be making the transition to wide receiver. In football he was a four year starter on the team along with being named a 1st team all district player for his last three seasons. Preston led his high school team in both rushing and passing as a senior and will look to duplicate that production in the fall. On the basketball court Preston will bring both talent and depth to the guard rotation, as he was 1st team all district for 4 seasons, along with being 1st team all region as well.
Preston had a brief quote after his time on campus, " Trinity is a great place with a great atmosphere and even greater people!"
Coach Twigg had this to say about Preston, "On film Preston shows a dynamic ability to impact a football game in many ways whether is with the ball or without it. He flashes the athletic ability and potential to be a standout player for us at the college level. I look forward to getting him on campus as he will succeed not only on the football field but as a student and as a person throughout the upcoming years!"
Coach Nowell is excited to add Preston as well. "Preston will make an immediate impact on my basketball team. He's a tremendous scorer and play-maker. He's a hard-worker and someone that will get a chance to contribute from day one. He's a tremendous talent that will make us instantly better. I can't wait to add him to the team. I'm excited to see what next year has to offer for Preston. I know he's going to have a great career for us!"
