
Lions Cross Country to Compete in Nationals
Six Lions will run in Missouri in the national meet.
Six memebers of the men's and women's team will be headed to the College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout, MO to run in the national meet.
The mens team will run as a team for the first time in school history. The Lions qualified as a team on October, 5th when they ran a team best 2:51:11 at the Jimmie Invite in Jamestown, ND. The Lions also had two runner qualify as indviduals as well, being Sam Jacob with a season best 32:18 along with Kaleb Renfro at 32:38. The runners that will round out the men's team this weekend will be Marcus Staley who has a season best of 35:38, Josiah Liebe 37:15 and Isaiah McIntosh with a best of 44:52. The Lions are one of six teams to qualify for the national meet. The men's race will start at 10 am on November 10th.
The Lions will also be sending the 14th ranked woman in the NCCAA in Chloe Jacob. She qualified with a 5k time of 22:05, she also set a school record for the 6k with a time of 26:21. For Chloe she is no stranger to qualifying for nationals as she is now going for the second straight year. The women's 5k race will start at 11 am.
Race results will be posted as soon as the races are done on Saturday.
The Lions are not just going down to Missouri to run, the will also be participating in a Christian Service Project helping with "Operation Christmas Child."
