Lions Cancel Final Game of the Year
Trinity Bible College is disappointed to announce that their final game of the season with Lawrence Tech has been canceled.
The Lions have had a great season even though they came into the season with only 27 total players. Through the eight games they have played this year they are 4-4, but heading into this last contest the Lions could have only fielded a team of less than 20 players with only 13 players being relatively healthy.
AD Jordan Nowell has this to say: "The decision wasn't made until Tuesday, because of our best efforts to honor the game with Lawrence Tech. In the end we made the decision to cancel because of only having 13 healthy bodies to go along with a couple of banged up players. This would have put us in a position of risk that we as a college were not willing to take. I commend Lawrence Tech. for their understanding through this situation. The low numbers would have put both teams in a lose-lose situation."
Though the Lions had low numbers this season, for only the third time in program history they finished with a .500 record. It is a disappointment to not play this final game, but the Lions will be looking to build off of the success they did have this season.
