Lady Lions Add Four Year Letter Winner Stacia West
Lions land local stand out player from Hamlin High School
The Lady Lions received their first signee in the 2019 recruiting cycle. Stacia West is a multifaceted prospect out of Hamlin High School in South Dakota. Along with being a standout basketball player she also is a recipient of the Trinity Bible College Presidential Scholarship, which is awarded to only three incoming freshmen. Stacia West started for Hamlin High School who was one game away from making the state tournament last season.
Stacia West is a 5' 10", forward who was a four-year letter winner and a two-year team captain. She also added a slew of other awards such as 2 time player of the week, 2 time player of the game along with being the team's defensive MVP. Stacia stated on why she picked Trinity, "I love how small the school is and the tight community feeling. I like how they give you an education and encourage you to grow in your faith. I'm also excited to play with a small but close team.
Coach Nowell had this to add about Stacia: "I'm really excited to add Stacia to the Lady Lions team next year for several reasons. The statistical category that we often got beat in this last season was rebounding. With Stacia's height and hard work ethic I know she will bring us some help in that area. She's not just a strong athlete though, she's also has proven that she is a great student and is exactly the type of student athlete I want in my program. Stacia will be both a huge asset on the court and to Trinity throughout her time here as a student-athlete."
