Logan Klitzke Joins the 1000 Points Club
The Lions men's basketball team was on the road to play Yellowstone Christian College on Friday and Saturday, January 10th and 11th. Although the Lions were unable to come home with a win, they were able to reach an incredible milestone for one of their starter athletes. Logan Klitzke, a junior, joined the 1000 points club for Trinity Bible College Lions during the Friday night game.
Klitzke has been a crucial team member since his first year as a Trinity Bible College Lion. During his freshman season, Klitzke earned a total of 351 points, 141 of which were the result of 3-point shots. He also led the team with 155 rebounds and 44 steals. He continued to improve during his second season, ending with 461 points for the year. Now as a junior, Klitzke leads the team in both field goal and 3-point shooting percentages. He is also the top rebounder with 97 total rebounds for the season so far.
Going into Friday night's game, Klitzke knew that he needed to earn 10 points in order to reach the goal that so many basketball athletes dream of achieving. Even with the anticipation of scoring his 1000th point, Klitzke played a solid and level-headed game. He ended the night scoring a total of 16 points to soundly place him in the 1000 points club. After the weekend and with at least 14 games left in his junior season, Klitzke is sitting at a total of 1012 points.
This is what Coach Nowell had to say about his athlete's accomplishment, "I am really excited for Logan to reach the 1000 points club! He's been a tremendous player for us and has worked hard to achieve this milestone!"
