Lions Sign Marlyssa Ledgerwood for 2023-2024 Volleyball and Basketball Season
The Lion's volleyball and basketball team are excited to announce the signing of Marlyssa Ledgerwood for the 2023-2024 athletic seasons. Ledgerwood is a 5'8" power house and has committed to both volleyball and basketball at Trinity Bible College and Graduate School.
Ledgerwood attended Ennis High School in Ennis, MT, and she will be majoring in Children's Ministries.
For volleyball, Ledgerwood received 1st Team All-Conference as well as All-State Selection her senior year. She will be joining the Lions volleyball team as an outside hitter and she exudes energy that will benefit the team both on and off the court.
Coach SaraLi Twigg quotes, "Marlyssa is such a special student-athlete, and we feel so blessed to have her joining our team. She has a strong offensive attack which is exactly what we needed to bring in this year. Not only is she an incredibly talented athlete, she also has such a positive competitiveness and Godly character. We are so excited to welcome her in the Fall, and I can't wait to see the influence she has on the Lions volleyball program."
Ledgerwood also received 2nd Team All-Conference her sophomore year as well as 1st Team All-Conference and All-State Selection her junior and senior year of basketball. She will be joining the Lions basketball team as a forward and will thrive with this group of girls.
Lions Head Basketball Coach, Rachael Nowell, had this to say about Ledgerwood, "We are elated to welcome Marlyssa to the women's basketball team! Her spark of energy and enthusiasm mixed with being a determined competitor will fit into our team nicely! I love her excitement for Trinity sports and passion for her academic pursuit of Children's Ministry! We look forward to the season ahead! Thank you for choosing Trinity."
In the words of Marlyssa, "I chose Trinity because I would have the opportunity to play sports. Both Coach SaraLi and Coach Rachael impressed me through the months that we talked and while at campus. They are both great and kind people, and I know that I will get a lot of mentoring from both of them. I also chose Trinity because God really opened the door for going to school there. I had been praying for God to shut some doors and He did. However, He opened another door, which is Trinity. Trinity is equipped with the courses I need to take to follow God's calling into the Children's Ministry. Pursuing God's calling with Coaches who are amazing mentors, sounds like life for me!"
Welcome Marlyssa Ledgerwood!
