Lions Name Twigg as Next Head Coach
Twigg takes reigns as next head coach
Trinity Bible College has named their next head football coach. Tanner Twigg will lead the Lions moving forward, as they look to build off a 4-4 record in 2018. Twigg has served on the TBC coaching staff for the past three seasons and has worked a wide array of positions. He has served as the quarterbacks and receivers coach for two seasons along with being the defensive backs coach for two seasons. Last season with the Lions, he was the defensive coordinator. In the one season as coordinator, the defense improved in nearly every category from the season prior including breaking three team records for most forced turnovers in a season, most TFL's in a season and most sacks as a defense in a season. Twigg also coached the two All-NCCAA selections from last season in David Steeves and Dakota King. Twigg also played for the TBC football team; in his career he is the only player to amass more than 100 career receptions. He also ranks in the top five in numerous other career statistics.
"I'm excited to get this opportunity at a place that changed me as a person and as a player. I look forward to building off of our .500 record, while growing the young men in the program to be the best men they can be. I'm beyond grateful with all the support I have received from all the members of TBC administration along with the rest of people who are associated with our great institution. I'd like to thank Coach Morgan, Coach Jackson and Coach Slivoskey who have all invested and believed in me throughout these past seven seasons. I can't wait to lead these young men into a new era of TBC football that will be a positive driving force for our community moving forward." Coach Twigg
Athletic Director Jordan Nowell had this to say about Coach Twigg: "The hiring of Tanner is a great step for our program. He's young, energetic and has proven his football knowledge over and over. He's someone the guys will relate well with and will look up to. I have a lot of trust in Tanner's ability to take this program above and beyond where we have been. Exciting times ahead for TBC football!"
