Basketball Update
A in depth look in at the men's and women's basketball teams
It has been an up and down semester for both of the basketball teams here at Trinity. With inexperience and not a lot of depth the Lady Lions and Lions basketball team are gaining valuable experience that will pay dividends come tournament time in February and March.
The Lady Lions enter the holiday break with a 4-5 record on the season. The Lady Lions are 4-1 in the NIAC with a 26-point win over the defending conference champion Sisseton Wahpeton College. The Lady Lions find themselves in 2nd place in the NIAC at the break as well as they are only trailing Canadian Mennonite University who is 6-0 in the NIAC. The Lady Lions do not have one stand out scorer but receive contributions from many players throughout the lineup. Madison Fisher leads the team with 9.3 ppg and closely followed by four other Lady Lions. Chambre Droste leads the Lady Lions in rebounds with 7.9 boards per game, La'Anna Golden also adds 6.1 rpg. Kennedy Nofziger averages 3.6 assists per game, which is a team high. Brynn Crockett leads the Lady Lions with 2.6 steals per game.
