Lions WBB Comes Up Short in NIAC Conference Championship Game
Women’s Basketball Results Trinity Bible College Lions @ NIAC Conference Tournament NIAC Conference Championship Game February 18th, 2017 (Oak Hills Christian College, Bemidji, MN) SCORE #1 Turtle Mountain Community College Mighty Mikinocks defeated #2 Trinity Bible College Lions 70 to 65.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lions and Mighty Mikinocks were locked in a back and forth affair from the start.
The Lions were able to grab a 2 point lead after the 1st quarter, but the Mighty Mikinocks responded in the 2nd quarter outscoring the Lions by 6.
The Mighty Mikinocks led at halftime 47 to 43.
The 3rd quarter was all Mighty Mikinocks as they continue to build on their halftime lead as they would take a 66 to 53 into the final quarter.
The Lions were able to cut the Mighty Mikinocks lead to just 2 points in the 4th quarter but the Mighty Mikinocks answered right back to push the lead back to 5.
The Mighty Mikinocks defeated the Lions 74 to 67 to win the NIAC Conference Tournament Championship.

-Brynn Crockett recorded her 1st career double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
-Senior Jaylen Neman was named NIAC Conference Most Valuable Player (2nd year in a row).
-Senior Rebecca Olsson and Freshman Shaylyn Steinheuser were both named to the NIAC All-Conference Team.
-Freshman Rachel Church was named NIAC All-Conference Honorable Mention.
