Men’s Soccer is building off of the First Match!
Men's soccer traveled down to Dubuque, Iowa last weekend to face off against NCCAA opponent Emmaus Eagles! The Lions found themselves in a tough deficit of 3-0 at halftime. The Lions continued to battle in the 2nd half but Emmaus kept on the gas and exploited little mistakes on the defensive end of the field! Emmaus extended their lead to 6-0. With the match at about the 70 minute mark, Senior Damian Myers broke free and scored the first official goal of the season for the Lions! Emmaus went on to take the win 7-1.
Although this is not the outcome men's soccer wanted, there were some positives to take away as the Lions can learn from their mistakes and continue to get better as a team!
Head Coach Scott Waldo had this to say about the game: "Overall we are off to a good start. The final score wasn't indicative of the overall way the guys performed. A few mental lapses, which are easy to clean up. Excited to have the numbers we do this year, more depth than previous seasons. I am excited to see how this group progresses throughout the season!
Men's soccer is back in action tomorrow night at the University of Minnesota-Morris (NCAA D3) in Morris, MN at 2:30pm CST.
