Lions Falls at Dawson

HOW IT HAPPENED 

These two teams faced off in early November with the Lady Lions coming out on top of that match up at home.

The Lady Lions came out quick and took an early 1^st quarter lead over the Buccaneers in a high scoring opening quarter.

The Lady Lions had a 23 to 18 lead after the 1^st quarter.

The 2^nd quarter was just like the 1^st as the two teams were scoring at a high pace and the Lady Lions extended their lead heading into halftime.

The Lady Lions led at halftime 42 to 32.

The 3^rd quarter saw the Buccaneers tighten up their defense as they looked to erase the Lady Lions 10 point halftime lead.

The Lady Lions took a 51 to 49 lead into the 4^th quarter.

The 4^th quarter was all Buccaneers as they held the Lady Lions to another 9 point quarter and went on to win.

The Lady Lions fell to the Buccaneers 75 to 60.

- The Lady Lions shot 40 percent from the field (24/60), 18 percent on 3's (2/11) and 71 percent on FT's (10/14).

- The Buccaneers shot 42 percent from the field (29/68), 27 percent on 3's (5/17) and 70 percent on FT's (12/17).

-The Lady Lions had 2 players in double figures, led by Jaylen Newman who had 25 points and 8 rebounds. Janae Droste added 20 points and 6 rebounds.

-The Lady Lions had 13 offensive rebounds, 10 assists and 7 steals in the game.

-The Buccaneers had 15 turnovers and 13 offensive rebounds in the game. 

-The Lady Lions out rebounded the Buccaneers 42 to 37.
