Lions X-C Update
Lions Cross Country Update After Jimmie Invitational October 6th, 2017 (Jamestown University, Jamestown, ND)
TBC Lions Men's Cross Country has had a tremendous season thus far. With one regular season race to go, our men's team has had two runners qualify for the NCCAA National Championship in Clinton, Mississippi on November 11th. Kaleb Renfro has lead the team with a season best 8K time of 31:57. He also recently received the honor of being named an NCCAA Student-Athlete of the Week for DII Men's Cross Country (Oct. 2, 2017). Sam Jacob has also run a national qualifying time of 33:03. Freshman runner, Samuel Maruszewski, is currently only 15 seconds shy of qualifying at 34:14. Teammates Marcus Staley and Michael Waldner have made tremendous contributions to the team by helping them record the fastest team time in TBC history at the Jimmie Invitational in Jamestown, ND (3:00:27).
TBC Lions Women's Cross Country has also had a successful season thus far. Our entire women's team is eligible to run at the NCCAA National Championship. Three out of four of our runners have posted qualifying times, which has enabled our fourth runner to join them in the Championship race next month. Chloe Thurber has lead the team all season with a season best time of 20:58 in the 5K. Her times have been one of the fastest in the nation in the NCCAA DII and she was named NCCAA Student-Athlete of the week for DII Women's Cross Country (Oct.9, 2017). Rachel Church has posted the next top time of 23:27, followed by Rachel Seidel at 24:10, and Arianna Bigart at 25:59.
The TBC Lions XC team will finish up their regular season of racing on Saturday, October 14th at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. They will then set their sights on preparing for Nationals.
