Lions Men's Basketball Season Preview
Ellendale, ND: The 2016-2017 Trinity Bible College Men's Basketball season is just about to get underway with practice starting on October 3rd. The Lions will have just over 20 days to prepare for their season opener on Friday, November 4th at home against NIAC Conference opponent Association Free Lutheran Bible School. The two colleges have a tradition of starting the year off by playing a weekend series. The Lions welcome back Head Coach Jordan Nowell for his 11th season at the helm and his Assistant Coach Colby Simonsen's 6th season.
The Lions return 8 players who started and played major minutes for them in the2015-2016 season. They are bringing back 3 seniors to the team including NCCAA 1st Team All-American Aaron Stemen (LaMoure, ND). Joining Stemen for their senior season is NCCAA All-Region guard Friscoe Erdahl (Ten Sleep, WY) and Jaden Shockley (Lemmon, SD) who is 2nd all time made 3's for a career. The Lions 5 sophomores which includes, Parker Stemen (LaMoure, ND), Zach Stemen (LaMoure, ND), Josh Bauska (Snohomish, WA), Zach Marengo (Grand Junction, CO) and Cooper Nofziger (Canby, OR). They also welcome 2 transfers who will be Juniors Korey Harris (Atlanta, GA) who played last season at Crossroads College and Stephone Myricks (Warner Robins, GA) who played two seasons at Dawson Community College in Montana. The Lions also have 4 true freshmen Antoine Vesey (Miami, FL), Boy Youngman (Polar, MT), Waylon Youpee (Polar, MT) and Jamal Williams (Powder Springs, GA). The Lions are also looking forward to welcoming back Junior Tash Williams (Billings, MT) who looks to take the court this season. T. Williams tore his ACL before the start of last season and the Lions look forward to welcoming him back following to the team.

Last season we didn't play up to our potential and we are excited to get a second chance at that as we are more experienced now.
