Volleyball Gets First Win in Home Triangular

The Kansas Christian women's volleyball team earned their first win of the season over Barclay in their home triangular on Friday. The Falcons beat Barclay in a five set match before falling in the nightcap to Trinity Bible College.

The Falcons came out hot winning the first set of the night in their opening match against Barclay. The Bears edged the Falcons 27-25 in the second set before the Falcons came back for a 25-19 win in set three. In the final set, Kansas Christian pulled away for a 15-10 victory to seal the match.

Sammy Sansom had 10 kills to lead the Falcon attack. Latresa Saunders and Laney Shipley each added nine of her own. Sidnee Bergquist tallied eight kills and Abigail Dahman finished with seven. Dahman and Shipley combined for 30 assists in the win as well. On the defensive side, Sidnee Bergquist had the highest dig total for any Falcon this season with 28. Dahman had 18 digs and Olivia Bryson finished with 17 digs. Sammy Sansom also had a double digit dig total with 14.

In the loss to Trinity Bible, Kansas Christian could not get any momentum going. Trinity Bible pulled away for a 3-0 victory after taking the first set 25-11. The Falcons managed just 15 team kills in the match. Shipley, Sansom, and Dahman each had 13 digs.
